dress a girl around the world

inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee ‘ooh I love a patch pocket!’ and Sew Scrumptious where I heard about this project called Dress a Girl Around the World, here are the first items of clothing I have made for over 20 years. The second two fabrics were bought in India so they will be returning there. Am aiming to make a few more out of fabric that is sitting in my living room/ bedroom/ garage (!) so watch this space.

I also bought this bit of gadgetry – a bias binding maker , although it looks like an instrument of torture, and made my own bias binding.

Sadly joyous. And even more joyous (bear with me) was the excitement at using this pattern to make it in a continuous loop , which involves some cool geometry – mention of parallelograms and isosceles triangles, yay! Now I just need one of those things to make rouleaux (?) loops cos I loved that bit last night, and I will be shirring away!
