warp and weft

due to technical mugglery as opposed to wizardry I haven’t posted anything for ages. But the machine has been gently whirring away through spring and summer. This white silk cushion uses strips of fabric cut along and across the grain. I remember first hearing those words, warp and weft, from my sewing teacher. Her influence still runs deep – ‘iron your seams, measure twice, cut once’. Wise words!
